Acceleration problems

So here's what I have got going.

89 chevy r2500 suburban 3/4ton 454 v8 4x4 upgrade

Last week while driving the truck lost power. At first thought it was the fuel pump, but once I got the truck towed to the house, I found that the dual pump was working. And that I wasn't getting spark, so I replaced the coil, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and she started running again. But a day after I got her going I was driving on the interstate and she just wouldn't accelerate. So since then from reason fb forums it appears to be a sensor issue. So I have replaced the map sensor and engine temperature sensor. She was having a lot of troubles starting up and after I replaced the sensors she fired up just fine. But I still have the acceleration problem. Has anyone ran into this or can point me in the right direction?
I am not very mechanically inclined and can't afford a mechanic, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Re: Acceleration problems

How did you check the fuel pump? My father in law had a similar issue, I told him it was his fuel pump and never believed me, he changed every part possible until I finally check the fuel pressure at idle and gave it gas and bam found out the pump was bad. The truck would start but would bog and die at acceleration. Double check and test your fuel pump right before you spend money on every other sensor

Re: Acceleration problems

I tested the tps and it seems to be working out just fine. Found a wire and repaired it. I was able to finally check the codes the the check engine light and I got codes 24, 33, 34, 44, 45.

Code 23 is my speed sensor
Codes 33-34 are my map sensor
Codes 44-45 say it is either running to rich or to clean which indicates my o2 sensor.

I'm going to be replacing the o2 sensor and speed sensor tonight. Also I checked the fuel pump and it is working, she's running just fine but tops out at 45. Some reading I did showed my speed sensor might cause this. So I am going to try these ill report back later today once I have some more info.
