Got it guys. Thanks a lot. It was just a matter of unscrewing the outside retainer that looks molded to the dash. I tried using my harbor freight snap ring pliers and they almost broke in half..lol. Needle nose pliers worked just as well.

Rob,

Since you have the same switch, can you answer a few questions for me. I don't have a switch on my dome light to turn on and off. Is one of your wires from the dome switch running to your AUX on the switch? If so, where is the other wire going?

Also, does the dome light turn on by turning the know all the way left or right?

Dome is fed with two wires. Orange from terminal D supplies power to the dome. White return to the ground terminal on the switch. The reostat varies the ground impedance to adjust the instrument light brightness, and at full turn turns on the dome light. My muscle memory says you turn all the way counter clock wise to switch on the dome.
