COLUMN SHIFT LEVER question.
Mine is all rusted out on my 72 and i would like to replace it. Iv been doing some research and seen and read that i shouldn't try it myself (Not exactly a pro but i know my way around a tool box). There is a spring behind the lever and if im not careful it will drop? My question is what would be the proper tools and steps to put a new one on. Thanks for any feed back!

Re: COLUMN SHIFT LEVER question.
I would use a drift pin punch, and knock the pin down (but not all the way out) just enough to slide the shift lever out.
I ve never done it it, but it seems like a simple fix. Don t use a tapered punch
