Doors hit body

I know what the problem is but don't have the money or time to fix it right now, but my lack of rocker boxes, old body bushings, and rust in the floor/rockers has made my body really flexible.

So, to avoid my doors slamming into the body what are my options?
I am thinking about spacing the middle body up on the frame, and possibly adding a reinforcement bar where the rocker box should be. Would that be enough?

Also, I have the convertible shims installed (I've seen them mentioned around here before).

Thanks

No rocker boxes? That would be the priority if it were my build. Is the top on it currently?

Re: Doors hit body

Close your doors and jump out like Dukes of Hazard style Cheapest way to do it until you do rocker boxes and rockers. The only option is brace that area though and keep the hard top bolted down tight, but if doing it to actually keep your doors working properly you may as well get replacement parts as it's pretty much the same thing. Once there's rust in these they flex and only way to fix it is to do it all properly unfortunately.

Re: Doors hit body

Rocker boxes are at the top of my list (in a couple years), but I don't want to tear into right now and don't have the cash to do it.

For the record, I have a hard top, and when the top is bolted in place the doors shut perfectly and line up correctly. Has no one tried anything with bracing this up for a year or two?

Re: Doors hit body

Your options are top on, rollcage, or some big rock sliders welded in.....or maybe if you want to run without a top jsut remove the doors too
