Rust Holes in Windshield drip rail

Anyone know what the best way to fix dime/nickel sized rust holes in the drip rail over the windshield? The rail isnt rusted out, just 3 or 4 holes in the valley created by the rail. Is there a patch panel or anything? The rust didnt go thru to the inner roof, so I am ok there. Any Ideas?

No patch panels are available for the drip rail and roof. Cut out the rusted areas and fab some patches, weld 'em in. The drip rail gutter is prone to rust when the orig. sealant is cracked. You probably should sand blast the gutter and reseal it with seam sealer. I have used left over scraps of patch panels to make small repairs like these. It might be a good idea to seal the metal in the gutter area with MasterSeries Permanent Rust Sealer or POR-15 (Allow it to run down between the seam) before you use the seam sealer to prevent future rust in the area.

If you choose to weld use a piece of copper or bronze as a backer on the hole....allows you to fill the hole easier....

Forgot to mention that on previous post.
