Drive shaft issues pinion angle
I have a 1972 Gmc 1500 long box. The truck has 4" drop springs and 1" blocks in the rear. I raised the carrier bearing (the hanging rubber style) to the high position on the cross member, has anyone else done this? Do people use pinion shims? What does everyone do?

Re: Drive shaft issues pinion angle
Get ahold of an accurate angle finder and do some checking. Many good youtube videos to learn how to check. Check the pinion and trans angles. You should shoot for 2-3% down on trans and 2-3% up on diff. Much more or less and you will see driveline vibration. Combinations of drops and aftermarket trans cross members and mounts will change the angles. Also measure the diff and see if it's centered.

Re: Drive shaft issues pinion angle
A friend of mine showed me an app for my phone by Tremec which includes a drive line angle finder. It's free for iPhone. Tremec Tool Box. It measures and calculates.
