I think it's one of those situations where good clean unhacked trucks are going to be worth good money so then everyone will think there junk is worth a ton too.
They tried to buy your 75? Wow....I think it is important to remember a few things here. Upkeep is also just as important in keeping the value high. Washing, waxing, detailing, quality oil changes, greasing of joints, engine flushes, and tranny flushes can all play a part. Not to mention transfer case, front dif and rear dif fluhes. It all plays a part. Those that have units with oxidation issues never waxed the trucks. I have seen units way newer than mine and they never once waxed the car. It does take money to maintain. If you fail, you fail your vehicle and the value. Call it weird but I even wax the glass on my burb.
