rear disk conversion

i want to switch from drums to disks in the back the front was done by po. what all does it take to do this? is it like th front just bolt on disks plug in the line and go?

Here's the kit I used. Pull the differential cover, slide the center pin out to remove the axle "C" clips, remove axles. Remove drum brake backing plates. Install disc brake brackets, install axles, install rotors and calipers. Bleed brakes. I personally didn't use the parking brake setup, so I have no advice for you there.

I bought a kit from Captfab, a vendor here on the board, very nicely done package, has all the hardware to mount, you just need the rotors and calipers. depending on what you want for e brakes, he has several options....

Don't forget to use a disc/disc proportioning valve or an adjustable prop valve plumbed into the rear brake line.
I think you should switch to a disc/disc master cylinder with equal size reservoirs also.

do you need the parking brake to pass inspection? right now mine doesn't work anyways i have to adjust the cable.

Technically, yes, in Texas your parking brake is something that is checked for operation during an inspection. Depends on how strict the guy at your inspection station is, though.
