VIN help needed...please

I bought a truck several years back and the gentlemen did not have the title. I was going to use it for parts but, because of condition, I might see about putting it on the road.
I have the VIN info from the tag but, no title info.
Is there a way to run or check the VIN to see if title is active?
VIN number is 12 digits and the online VIN checking sites need 17 digits.

Thanks in advance for any and all info,
Dan

Re: VIN help needed...please

You are missing a digit after the C, either an S or E. The online sites don't understand that these trucks only had 13 numbers in the VIN. 17 didn't come in until later.
