How much will your truck haul ?

Not sure if this is just a regional thing Lowes has mulch on sale for a dollar a bag. So we bought a few bags. The first load my friend and I bought 100 bags. I only had to haul his 50 bags 2 blocks. Then I went back and bought another 70 bags, which makes up one full pallet. First time using my truck to haul anything heavy. oh yea and one Bird of Paradise plant.

Re: How much will your truck haul ?

In this case I think the question is not "how much can you haul" but "...how fast can you turn corners?"

(lol)

Re: How much will your truck haul ?

Light 3/4, 8500GVW, 250 3OTT manual steering, went across the scrap metal scale at 11490. Cost me both rear shocks, some paint off the rear of the frame (no bumper from factory).
Repeatedly hauled 60 bales of 90# hay, 70 bales would not fit thru barn door unless you risked stacking a bunch on the tail gate, but that made the truck impossible to steer if you know what I mean.

Re: How much will your truck haul ?

I hesitated on the plant, but you only live once. I did have the mulch strapped down for the short trip home. Which I drove very slow and carefully around corners. Since I live so close to the Lowes store I pulled this stunt. If the distance would have been any further, I would have broke the bundle down and spread the load out. The picture is just for fun.

Re: How much will your truck haul ?

My C10 will haul 1500# in the box, and I've done that a few times. I've also driven 500 miles with 1000# in the box, and pulling a 3500# trailer. Total combined weight was nearly 9000. It's a lot for a six cylinder.
