door weather seal

Who makes the best (thin) weather seal that doesn't alter pannels alignment when installed for a 57 truck door

Re: door weather seal

They'll all alter your panel alignment, but the softest and best that I've found is SoffSeal.

Re: door weather seal

Thanks bob, do you think it's wise or even if possible to trim the seals so it won't alter the pannels alignment?

No, the seals have a smooth surface but the internals are a porous foam. They really can't be trimmed, other than on the ends. I have noticed a deflection around the windows when the seals are put in place.

Re: door weather seal

I also used Soffseal. Reading the many times people had issues when using new seals I was concerned.

I found the first time closing the doors they were tight, but the seals conformed quite well and everything fits good and the doors close nicely now.

Jim

Oh, on the bottom of the drivers side I had one plastic peg that out of place, I put a hole in the right place on the seal and reinserted the plastic peg, all is well now.
