Re: what filler neck to use ?
I am pretty sure that most Chevy necks are pretty generic. I used a neck and door off of a 2006 Silverado, and where the neck mounts to the quarter just bolted on with 3 screws. I did have to change the "tunnel" that is on the inside of the quarter because the angle on the 06 is different, but it was not a huge issue.

Re: what filler neck to use ?
What do you need to get the door and associated parts out of a vehicle at the pick n pull. I want to do this before I get the thing painted. Pick n pull doesn't allow power tools though. bright ideas? What do i take with me, just a big a$$ed chisel and hammer?

Re: what filler neck to use ?
I'll make some pics of my 79 filler door for you this weekend but basically you're going to have to do what gclark did. I don't think anything mounts to the inner panel but will verify.

Re: what filler neck to use ?
I have an 87 here with the filler neck and door. I can cut a patch panel around the door and send the whole package...neck, mounting hardware, door, and patch panel if any one is interested.

What is that extra wee tube off the side of the neck in the last picture? I don't have one of those on my 75 gas filler??

Re: what filler neck to use ?
thanks, now I know what to look for.Looks like 2 screws at the top hold the funnel part of the filler neck on the outside when you open the door

Re: what filler neck to use ?
Following up to this thread and thank you to Krazy Ray who sold me the above filler neck cover etc. See picture for current state. As its a square body I'm glad it was a square cap cover. My bodywork chap has done a splendid job thus far.

Re: what filler neck to use ?
Just saw this after I responded to another thread. That's the way to modernize! Looks very nice. Now the hard work starts - bondo and shaping. I'm no expert so it took me a very long time to make it look like it came that way.
