Question fenderwell color advice

I have been thinking about pulling my inner fenders wells and painting them. I did a terrible job prepping the undersides of the fender wells when painting my truck, and need to make them look nicer.

Are there any recommendations as to what colors to use? Should I use undercoating on the outside? My firewall is painted black, and my truck is orange. I have a couple of paint bombs with my truck color. Should I paint the engine compartment side pf the fenderwell the color of my truck or keep them black like the firewall?

Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated!!

Do you have a pic of the engine compartment. My first insticnt is to say semi-gloss black, it looks great with anything.

I vote black. It is the way you see nearly all vehicles (nearly all trucks like ours restored or not). Plus it is easier to match the paint (if ya scratch it up) than some other color
