Column Shift Indicator Help

I have a 1970 C10 with a TH400 and non-tilt column.

I need to replace the Indicator Pointer Housing and found that. I also noticed that the letters are practically wore off on the lens. However, I cannot find a lens listed for my truck anywhere. Below is the LMC catalog page. Does the 1970 model matter if it has tilt? I have checked a number of retailers and find similar listings.

Another possible option, has anyone tried painting the letters back on the lens? Seems like it needs to be a special paint.

Re: Column Shift Indicator Help

I have run into the same thing. My 70 needs the little pointer. I got the one shown from LMC and it just wasn't right. As I recall, the ears that hold it to the column were too narrow. It then broke in a short time.

I see them for the tilts and other years but the 69-70 w/o tilt........... ARGH You may want to look through the for sale area.

Do not use the tilt lens, it is only for tilt columns

Re: Column Shift Indicator Help

Longhorm70, thanks for the heads up on the pointer.

Anyone know if the three speed listings here would work?

They look right in the picture.

Re: Column Shift Indicator Help

DEFINITELY worth contacting them to see if they fit factory columns.

They list NPD as a dealer of their products, and I happen to work 5 minutes from the NPD in Charlotte so I will take my parts in and see if we can't get to the bottom of this. I will share what I find out.

Re: Column Shift Indicator Help

It seems #6 is what you want. I have a whole set in good condition if you can't find a new one.

Re: Column Shift Indicator Help

The reason I didn't want to use their pointer is it uses doublesided tape to keep it on.
