Camshaft swap on SB 350/290hp
Hey guys, looking for some advice. I have a Chevy Performance SB 350/290hp in my C10. She runs fine, but I know she is capable of more, especially when it comes to low end torque and acceleration. I have seen many posts on this site about the stock camshaft being a bad match for this engine. I am thinking about swapping it out. Don't need a street demon, just something with a little more low end torque and acceleration. Don't want to burn through tires, but a little bark would be nice. Any suggestions on the right cam would be appreciated, thanks.

The Melling MTC-1 RV/towing cam was a common upgrade for many years. Thus they can be had pretty cheap.

Go over to engine/drivetrain section. Always good discussions on this subject.

12-300-4 allows all stock components but has enough low down grunt.

Check out the Lunati cams. Good options there.

Re: Camshaft swap on SB 350/290hp
Rear gears are 3.73 with a 700r4 transmission (which will being rebuilt at the same time the cam is swapped out). The base timing is 16 ( no detonation) with total timing at 36 (vacuum advance is hooked up.
