Shifter questions

Hey guys you all have been a great help so far on my project. I built the trans crossmember have the engine and trans installed. Im now looking at shifters i would like to do a column shift my question is is it possible to safely change a three on the tree to automatic. If its not i was looking at some universal floor shifters and wanted some opinions im considering the mr gasket one like this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/361206120614...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
or one like this
http://www.bmracing.com/products/807...&md=&smd=&eng=
has anyone used these how do they look and feel. I dont want to drop a ton of money but the mr gasket one looks a lil janky and doesnt come with a neutral safety switch. any help you guys provide is much appreciated thanks in advance

Re: Shifter questions

You might want to try Lokar to get one specific for the transmission you are using. Probably costs more but might be worth it for better results.

Re: Shifter questions

I use a B&m mega shifter, had it for 16 years. I would go b&m or Lokar. Like stated above they're trans specific, different length cables.

Re: Shifter questions

Did you just use a universal linkage and make it work for the three on the tree to the auto?

So after alot of thinking and pondering i was at the pick and pull and grabbed a jeep shifter and made this and was looking for some opinions on the look before I finish the install in the truck.

Re: Shifter questions

I like it too. Throw a shift boot over it and everybody will ask what it is, where you got it, etc. Cool and unique!

Re: Shifter questions

Diggin' the bullet casing button. I like the shifter a lot.
On closer examination, that's an old grenade body as well. Now I like it even more!

Throw a Crown Royal bag at the base.
