2004r slipping at wot

2004r, about a year or sold old. Lately it feels as if it is slipping at wot. Like when I go wot, the engine revs really high and it takes a bit for it to 'catch' and then it will accelerate. It seems as if this is a recent thing, but it drives perfect in all other conditions besides wot. I did adjust the throttle valve cable using the little cam that BTO uses, but I wouldn't think that would be related? What could this be? It's practically new, I hope it's not screwed up. My servo did start leaving, and I took it to BTO and they fixed the seal for free, could that be related to anything?

Not sure if this is it, but 2004rs have a shallow pan and a top feed filter that can allow air ingestion during heavy acceleration. I have read about people using the 700r4 filter, which is bottom feed, for that reason. A deep oil pan would work too.

Re: 2004r slipping at wot

My 200r4 has had a deep aluminum pan from day one its a stage 2 built & installed professionally by Jake's Performance in Dallas,TX & I love it other than having this problem & it only does it once in a while?
My luck I would take that 3 1/2 hour drive from Houston & it won't do it plus I'm in the middle of an LS swap in my 69 C10 & can't afford it rt now :-/
I was also told by a mechanic that tunes my carburetor that I need to go to a bigger stall converter?
Just came up on this post & thought I'd keep an ear open.

Re: 2004r slipping at wot

Yeah totally agree with you there fluid is good I even upgraded the trans cooler because mine looked old & the PO got carried away with black paint lol it looked thick & clogged in some spots.
Thinking maybe for Xmas take it to circle D for a check up & upgrade the converter it's pushing an overbuilt 383 stroker. (Overbuilt for the street)
It's fun & sounds really good though
