oil filter question

what was last year for canister type oil filter on gm inline 6,I seem to remember a aftermarket filter that used a roll of toliet paper !boy Im dating myself!

had to be before 67, cuz my 292 is a 67 and it has the newer screw on non cartridge type.

Not sure about the 6s but my 327 still has a canister style.

It was earlier than 64 as well I believe. My 64's 292 had a "normal" fram PH5 on it, course now the engine has gone through a complete make over and has a 1061 napa gold. lol

i don't remember the exact years, or specific engine, but the tp filter was aftermarket and i saw them a lot on early 60's FFC trucks

1963 4x4 was the last year for inline with the remote canister oil filter that bolted to the intake. Chevrolet still used the 235 and 261 in the 4x4 light duty 4x4 trucks. 2wd trucks had the new 153/230/292 inline which had the new spin on filter. The 153 was reserved for Step-Van application only.
