? on tach

The signal wire that runs from the dizzy to the tach, what size should that be? Currently I have about an 18ga on it. It has a bounce to it between 2500 and 3000 RPM's. I think it is just a bad connection though.

18 sounds about right, i dont know for sure. but i do remember the wire is quite small.

I don't thing the wiring is too small. I would check the connections again, especially the ground.

It's a loose wire somewhere. Cause now it will just stop reading and stick on about 2200 RPM.
