Bagged with big wheels/tires

What are you guys doing about the inner fenders to strengthen them? I havent even had my truck on the street yet and have already bent the inner lip of the fender accidentally when turning to far while driving low. This is with 1" narrower a-arms.

This is one on the best designed bagged 60-66 inner fenders I've seen.

mine are simliar to another guy on this forum, we trimmed the fender out for more turning space as well.

Yup, for the radiused edges. Filled in the sides and banded them to make them wider.

In the first pic it looks like you bolt them in, 2nd pic it looks like it is actually attached to the fender... so confused lol....

The first pic is the inner fenders. They bolt into the core support and to the firewall. This ties everything together just like the originals.

The picture of the fender in primer shows an over lapping edge to finish to the wheel well.

It's hard to see in this picture, but the inner wheel well and the fender are 2 separate pieces. The red arrow is pointing to the part line.

Same deal as the red truck posted at the top of this thread, except the fit was perfect and didn't need half a dozen bolts to hold it together. I also followed the original taper when joining it to the core support.

"Banded" I used the 2 edges from a trailer fender and added a strip in the middle to make the tub wider. I used another trailer fender edge and attached it to the truck fender to make a lap joint where the fender bolts to the wheel well.

Yes this helps thanks. Yes the motor is a 305, and the 6 bolts are to retain a somewhat factory appearance. I spoke with the guy that owns the truck. Super nice guy.
