Hmmm... I bought the bezels were plastic as well. I never really tapped them. I assumed that as the paint is sort of bubbling like it would on plastic
As for the grille (or is it grill), it's in good condition. Just almost 40years old. Paint dull. |

Nope, the H/L bezels are pot metal. I just cleaned mine up with a bit of 220 grit then lacquer thinner and rattle canned the the area where they were painted argent from the factory with Rustoleum semi-gloss black.
