Front fender bolt kit

I know that I have seen a company that sells a front fender bolt kit but I can't remember which one.

Re: Front fender bolt kit

Can be found at this link: 45$ http://www.truckandcarshop.com/trucks60_72/t60_089.html

They look like regular bolts that I could purchase at lowes, anyone have any experience with the kit?

Re: Front fender bolt kit

I bought bolts from clipsandfasteners.com for under $20 for 50 bolts. They were something like 1/5 the cost of buying them from Lowes, and it's the same bolts you will get there. They aren't factory correct, and I'd recommend getting some 5/16 washers to go with them. It's a cheap option for body bolts and the quality seems to be very good.

Re: Front fender bolt kit

Well that kind of stinks. I just ordered a set but now that I see they are not flange bolts I am kind of disappointed. Maybe I will keep looking. They are on back order for 3 weeks.

Re: Front fender bolt kit

Yeah, just regular stainless bolts. I'm kind of wondering why I spent 46$ on them, but whatever.

Re: Front fender bolt kit

I know I saw another company that sells them. The only reason I did not buy them at the time was the included the rad support bolts to the frame and I dad just bought them from another company.

Re: Front fender bolt kit

Are those bolts for all the front sheet mettle? Like the bolts inside the wheel well that connect the inner fender to the cor support or are they just the bolts visible when you open the hood that hold the outer fenders to the inner fenders and the inner fenders to the fire wall? If so do I need this kit also?

Re: Front fender bolt kit

Does anyone know all the sizes needed for the front sheetmetal?

There are several places online that carry the flange head bolts in SS.

Re: Front fender bolt kit

Just something else to consider. TxFirefighter mentioned taking his hardware to a plating place, and having them cleaned up and zinc plated. It was dirt cheap, but a bit of a hassle, and you would have to keep them organized or have a better memory than I do to remember what went in what hole if you want it to look factory correct. Might have to do a Google search for plating shops in your area.

Re: Front fender bolt kit

What sizes of bolts are used for all the front sheet metal? Because my dad took mine apart 25 years ago and just has a big bucket full of old rusted bolts.

Re: Front fender bolt kit

Thanks for all the help. I ended up buying a set from Car and Truck Shop. They have a full front bolt set for the front end. I had ordered the set of stainless steal bolts previously mentioned but that is only for the sheet mettle that shows under the hood and not for inside the fenders.

Re: Front fender bolt kit

I just purchased some stainless serrated flange hex bolts from this place and they are really nice bolts. Shipping was quick and their prices seem fair.

http://www.allensfasteners.com

You can probably find them here if you know the sizes.
