New steering gear and shaft thread don't match

I bought a new steering gear to replace my old one. I removed the old to find that the gear from the box to the shaft are different. How do I fix this? Can the old one be swapped off and replaced?

Truck is a 73 k20

Are you talking about the input shaft or the hose fittings? I believe you can get adapters for both.
