Got new tires today. Looked for used ones but did not find anything good so got new ones. The are 265 75 16. I am going to paint the rims but can not decide on black or white.

Got new tires and put about 400 miles on the truck and now have a very bad knock. I think its a rod bearing. Going to pull the engine now.

Spent a week out of the area with family from out of state so things are going slow. It was a bad bearing ended up rebuilding the engine as all the bearings were bad and there was lots of metal in the engine. Got everything back from the machine shop and spent last night and all of today rebuilding it. Going to get it back in the truck tomorrow.
I was having some issues with the timing where if everything was set correctly it would back fire threw the carb, well the timing chain was really stretched out and the timing marks did not line up. Hope all works well now as I think the valve timing was causing the back fire problem.

Still amazed how fast this truck has come together! Per the wheels my vote would be black, or even gun metal grey.

Man, you got a lot done in less than three months. You must of had a pretty good truck to begin with. Either that, or I'm really slow working on my stuff. Good job! I say go with black rims.

I have been thinking about gun metal grey with trim rings. Or even body color with trim rings.

I got the engine in and running this weekend. Took it for a test drive and all seems well. Going to drive it to work in the morning which is 40 miles each way. Wish me luck.

truck did well. So after 80 miles mostly on the highway at 75 mph it got 11.8 mpg. I think it is running a little rich but will mess with that this weekend.

I am thinking about changing bumpers on the rear. It currently has a 80s type bumper that the chrome is coming off.

I have a older type bumper that is white that I was thinking of putting on the back of the truck. If I do that I will repaint the wheels white and paint the "Chevrolet" on the tail gate white. I want to see what everyone thinks about the bumper swap.

This photo is a old pic of my C10 when I was in High School and the bumper in the photo is the one I would be using.

Was doing well but now the transmission pump is making noise when it's first started. I think its sucking air. Going to pull the pan Friday after work. Also getting 12.5 mpg at 75 mph.

LOL! That works! I have to start rust repair soon so i continued to clean and organize my garage, the endless pit is still a mess.
