Parking Brake Clearance w/ kick panel speakers

I am planning on installing the molded plastic kick panel speaker surrounds on my 72 and decided to do a mock up today for fit and finish. The passenger side is good to go. The drivers side is good aesthetically, but there are some definite fitment issues particularly regarding the parking brake assembly. I am kinda stumped on where to start approaching how to rectify this and am turning to y'all for some help.

I just grabbed my pedal and pulled it away from the speaker a little...

Welcome to the board.

Ya, I remember reading a thread or two on this a few years back. I think most ended up just tweaking the pedal arm in board a bit to clear the speaker. Use the search function and check in the audio section of the forum.

Good luck.

I did the same just pull it over enough to clear the speaker, needs to slightly bend the arm. The problem I have is I can't get my big foot on the dimmer switch so I never use the brights.

i'd move the dimmer switch so you can use it// only a couple of screws and there's plenty of slck in the wires

I thought about that but the carpet had a premade hole for it and I didn't want to have to deal with it. I don't drive the truck that much at night anyway.

Thanks for the responses! I kinda thought about just pulling on it but wanted to ask around first. As for my dimmer switch, I planned on relocating it from the get go. No way I'd get my big feet under there.

There is always the 67-68 hand brake.

But how much of a pain would that be switching over?
