Mounting Shock Bracket

The mounting hole on the frame for my front shock is so worn the shock is loose. I see shock mounting brackets are available in the Classic Parts catalog. The previous threads I have researched all appear to be for custom built suspensions or lowered trucks. My truck is a 2wd C-10 at stock height. Which is a better solution, the mounting brackets or finding someone to weld and redrill the hole into the frame?

I have never liked the stud bolt design on these trucks. My 66 had the same problem. You can still use the mounting brackets if you are talking about a set like these:

alot of people i see have welded the appropiate size washers on the frame both front and backside

I,m looking for the upper bracket for the shock, driver side rear for a 67 step pickup. The old one is ripped off. Does anyone have a resource for something like this. All I can find is the rear lower and front upper.

One of my studs ripped out of the frame completely, I used these:

I just drilled a hole near the original location and bolted these up. Super easy. I think I had to file the sides of my shocks slightly to fit in this bracket, but it was no big deal. This was by far the easiest solution I found.

I liked these better than the brackets previously posted because those have to be installed on the top of the frame, and its a lot harder to get access, as opposed to these which just mount on the side.
