Talking What Year Is My Truck?

Ok so I am not sure where to begin. Here it goes. The truck is "registered" as a 1967. However after starting to work on it I started to notice little things that got me thinkin, is this really a 67?

Last night I went to our local 67-72 parts guy and picked up some 67 door panels but they DON'T fit.

I need your guys help to figure out roughly what year cab and doors I have.

Here are the panels that don't fit. They have a ledge at the top that slide under and then bolt at the bottom.

Here are the doors on the truck.

Here are other pictures inside the cab. I thought I read somewhere that the ashtrays on the 67 are smaller?

Dash.

Under the pedals.

Thanks for the help.

Re: What Year Is My Truck?

looks to be a 67. your missing the trim that goes across the top of the panel. this secures the top of door panel then bottom bolts in.

Oh that makes more sense.

So the cab and doors look to be 67?

Re: What Year Is My Truck?

The ignition switch is 67 only, so that cab is a 67. In 68 the ignition switch hole is larger.
All your knobs are 68-72 but those were probably changed by a PO.

Hand break- 67-68. Look at the fenders. Are there side lights? If so it is a 68. If not it is a 67

Do you have a picture of the lock channel?

I am surprised my parts guy didn't mention the lock channel at the top.

Re: What Year Is My Truck?

your doors are 67 also they have the round holes not the teardrop shaped holes like the later years.

Re: What Year Is My Truck?

Not the greatest pic, but shows the strip at the top your missing. Held on with 4 screws. The far left hole that holds your door panel seems to be occupied by another bolt. Looks like it should work ..

Re: What Year Is My Truck?

Make sure you get the painted ones (just like in the pic), not the chrome ones, the chrome strips are designed for the thicker vinyl covered fancy door panels

Yeah the PO shaved the door handles. The other bolt is holding the solenoid to pop the door open. I am working on converting it back to reg door handles.

Cool thanks for the info. I will have to look for some painted ones. My parts guy might have some. If not I wonder if LMC carries them?

good luck with that, most people who shave the door handles also fill in the indentation behind the handle, you might be better off swapping doors with someone who wants shaved handles.
