Rubber Coating on floor pan

I have a one piece floor that I'm installing with the black EDP primer. My question is when I spray some rubberized coating to protect the bottom should I just spray right over the black EDP? Also, anyone have any suggestions for under coating...I was looking at some at NAPA about $20 a can.

Re: Rubber Coating on floor pan

I used the urethane coating on mine, drys hard not soft like the rubber undercoating. Iy cost more but well worth it.

Re: Rubber Coating on floor pan

Honestly I would epoxy prime and paint over a scuffed EDP then undercoat afterwards. The undercoating creates pockets that moisture can get into. Trevor

Re: Rubber Coating on floor pan

Step away from the rubber coating! Whatever you decide to use (and I suggest not using rubberized coating) you most definitely want to paint first. There are way better coatings for this application. look around and make an educated decision. Replacing a floor is too big a job to be putting the wrong stuff on

Just throwing this out there. I did inside and out w/epoxy prime, then a couple coats of por 15. I expect no rust.. Could then undercoat to help with noise and heat if ya choose, but the point is you need a good base under the under coat.

Sboris, did you use the etch prep on top of the epoxy primer prior to putting on the POR15.

I have used 3M Body Schutz on the last 3 vehicles I have done. I have been very happy with it...

If you do a search on Google or Bing you will find more info on it.

Re: Rubber Coating on floor pan

Yep paint them with a good paint and buy a rubber floor insert. Or carpet if that is your cup of tea.
