Hey guys I was going to buy a Holley Acces drive kit for my 5.3 swap in my 52 GMC will it clear the inner fenders has anyone used that kit? If not what about the stock LM7 truck drive unit. Thought I had it worked out but saw some pics now I am doubting??

Re: Accessory Drive
I cant speak for the Holley but I tried every stock unit ( including the LM7) and nothing will fit between the frame ( with Mustang II) and/or inside the inner fenders with out cutting them.

Re: Accessory Drive
Although I haven't gotten it yet I am going to use the Holley accessory drive bracket for the power steering pump and alternator. I am also going to ditch the AC and use corvette crank pulley and waterpump. I am going with the corvette spacing to gain clearance for an electric fan because the truck and f body dive set ups don't have enough space for me.

Re: Accessory Drive
DW thanks for the pics do you have a build thread? I was looking ahead and your steering shaft is about what I figured I would need to fab too.. what exhaust manifold are you running there?

Re: Accessory Drive
for the price they want for front drives, it's well worth fabricating your own
truk is also anti billet so price and all that shiny stuff turned me away from the kits my motor came with a standard rotation water pump which steered me to v belts though serpentine would have been as easy to fabricate for a fraction of the cost i also didn't like how high the kits mount components only the alternator is above the water pump, the ac and ps pump are down low in stealth mode

Re: Accessory Drive
I made all of my mounts out of flat stock and painted. My personal opinion is that the aftermarket stuff takes the attention away from the engine itself and puts the focus on the accessories. I also think they look way to clunky and overbearing. The TF have more width between the inner fenders so the AC and alternator can be laid off to the side. I would estimate $20 in metal and paint and about 8 hours of fabrication time for the PS, AC and Alt brackets. Ramshorn manifolds helped too.
