New Guy from Wichita, KS

Hey gang! I'm a new guy from Wichita. I'm 27 years old and have always loved the '67-72 trucks. My dad had a 72 that he converted to 4x4 when I was a kid, and I was hooked since. At 15, I bought this '69 CST10 with a 396 and Turbo 350. It was the classic two-tone green that was popular back then. About a year after I got it, Dad and I restored it, doing everything but body repair ourselves. We went with a metallic Viper blue, with metallic pearl white. A year later, I spun a bearing in the big block, so I had it rebuilt, boring it 0.060" over. Unfortunately, it never ran right after. I parked it, leaving it for my 3 younger brothers to drive to high school, just as I did. I bought a '71 parts truck about 5 years ago that had a 350 SBC crate engine and 350 tranny, both with only 2k miles on them (only paid $600 for the truck!) , and dropped that into it. And that's where she's at now.

I found this site, researching for info on the front disk brake conversion I'm about to do on it, using the same parts truck I got the 350 from, as well as a 2/4" lowering job. Once that's done, I'm getting new wheels/tires for her. It has 3 different types of tires on it now because I knew I wanted new wheels soon. One day, I'll get a big block back into her!

Here's a couple crappy cell phone pics. They're not that great.

Cash, do you happen to know if the 69 15" Rally wheels will fit over 71 disk brakes? I'm assuming they don't. You had mentioned earlier this week that you had some Rally's. Do you have any in 6x5.5" that might fit? I'm considering going that route or getting chrome wheels that are 8" wide in front and 10" wide in back, if possible.
