Advice on 700r4 swap

So I'm just starting a body off on my 71 and think i wanna swap the turbo 350 for a 700r4 overdrive tranny. Currently have a tired sbc but think I'll do a 383. I will be using the 205 transfer case that's currently in the blazer.
I'm assuming I'll keep the same motor mounts and have to move the tranny crossmember? Also will the linkage from the turbo 350 work on the 700r4? Lastly, how will the new trans affect the location of the transfer case?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

The conversion output shaft is the shortest version of the 700R4 and moving the engine forward a little makes everything work well. The colummn shifter works but there are issues getting a proper NSS lamps fuction as recall.

you will need to change the spline on the 700r4 to match your transfer case. I'm assuming you are running the NP205. I did this on my blazer. I don't recall if the mounts for the transfer case to frame lined up... GL

The 700r4 is an ok transmission if you get one out of a 89 or newer car or truck. they had many problematic issues with them when they first came out. if your hard pressed on the 700r4 locate one with K casing. Be advised that the 700r4 will only take so much abuse in stock form.

That's good to know, maybe I'd be better off doing a turbo 400 and leave the 373 gears? Does a turbo 400 mount the same as a tb350? Same length etc? I heard the 205 transfer case is different for a tb400 and tb350? Can anyone clarify? Thanks
