64 4x4 rear end
I've got a Friend that grenaded his rear in his factory 4x4 swb 64 chevy. Does anyone have info on what rear ends, whole housings will work for him?

Re: 64 4x4 rear end
The 12 bolt housings from '63 to early '70 will be the same width, but keep in mind that the '63 and '64 12 bolts will have 17 spline axles and spider gears. Late '70 to '79 12 bolt in the k series will be 1.5" wider.

Re: 64 4x4 rear end
Good info! Thank you! If the 67 68 69 rear were leaf spring equipped do the perches line up?

Re: 64 4x4 rear end
Perches are the same width, 40", through 1972 for k5, k10 and k20.

Re: 64 4x4 rear end
Since his is a short bed it would be a 1/2 ton and have a GM Corp 12 bolt with a WMS-WMS width of 63". 3/4 ton would be an Eaton HO52 with a WMS-WMS width of 65".
You can use a 73-87 axle but you'd have to cut and reweld the perches as they are 42.5" apart. WMS-WMS would also be 65" for those 12 bolts and 67" for the 12 bolts.
