Rear running light issue...

I have a 61 Apache C10 SB i just picked up. The issue i am having is that when the parking lights/headlights are on the rear break lights/running lights don't work. During daytime driving breaks and blinkers light up just fine in the rear. Where should i start to trouble shoot? Truck was rewired by previous owner and bulbs are good.

It could indicate your light switch is faulty but chances are its the connections in your turn signal switch on your steering column.

Re: Rear running light issue...

90% of the time , on our trucks it will be a ground issue ... the fact that they mounted the lights in aluminum makes the problem worse.. make sure there is a ground from battery to frame and then frame to bed .. I had to run a wire from inside the bucket , and attach it to one of the screws that hold the assembly in , then ground to the frame , now mine all work fine.... ,The springs in the socket sometimes give up the ghost ,but you can buy new pig tails that replace the socket ...
