First post
Hey all, first post here.
Bought my 69 custom 2wd a little over a month ago. 350/400. Had a hard time starting cold upon purchase, also had a bad battery. New battery and still had issues so I took a closer look at the carb (was a carb swapped over from a vette) was a mechanical choke carb swapped to electric, but the choke wasn't even hooked up or operational. Replaced intake, carb and new fuel pump with edelbrock parts 2701 and 1406. Works beautifully now, haven't set timing and fully adjusted fuel/air yet, but its getting there. Now comes the big issue, the oil leak is still there, seems like its coming from behind the engine as I'm not finding anything near the rear of the valve covers or intake/oil sender. most likely rear main seal right? Live just east of vancouver Wa, so anyone that has recommendations for a shop to take it to would be welcome while I research a little more. Also have what appears to be an exhaust leak just below the exhaust manifold. Would like it checked out at the same time and depending on result and cost of engine work (it is old, and might end up needing to be rebuilt or replaced with a crate), might just go with headers as well. |

Yes rear main seal leak, damn I love diamond tuck. It rains a lot here too, enjoy that truck cruzing around in the rain.
