FS: NOS GMC hub caps
I'll probably end up needing these a week after I sell them, but I have six NOS 1962-1963 GMC 1/2 ton hubcaps for clip-style wheels. Zero dents/dings, just some rubbing/shelf wear. $150 each plus postage.

Bump, $125 each if you get 4 or more. Hard to find NOS parts.

Re: FS: NOS GMC hub caps
Not being a hub-cap/wheel guru, these will not fit the later rims that will clear disc brakes, right? If so, I may be in for four....

Re: FS: NOS GMC hub caps
I don't have stock wheels (yet), running Centerlines. I'm thinking about getting a set of stock wheels and running with white walls, but I have disc brakes up front that I need to clear. From what I remember, the only wheels that clear disc brakes are the later rims?

Re: FS: NOS GMC hub caps
If they are the 4 bump style 6 lug rim they will work. These are the 73 4 bump 4wd rims pictured. Cleared my disk brakes no problem

Re: FS: NOS GMC hub caps
That's what I seem to recall from the Fourm. So the 62 - 63 clip stiyle rims will not work. Too bad, these don't come up very often.....

Re: FS: NOS GMC hub caps
So does anyone know if there are any clip-style wheels that will clear disk brakes?

Re: FS: NOS GMC hub caps
No, not factory. There aren't because no disc brakes ever came on anything when clip-type wheels were used. If a hubcap uses outer nubs, it will fit either drum brake or disc brake wheels. It's the wheels that need to clear calipers, not the hubcap. 3 or 4 nub does not matter with hubcaps. Any 5 or 6-lug GM nub-type wheel will accept any car or 1/2t truck hubcap that uses nubs to mount.
That said, I believe I have seen some wheel company today building wheels that fit disc brakes that use clip-mount for older GMs. I wish I could recall who it was

Re: FS: NOS GMC hub caps
True, clip rims and disc brakes are from two different eras... But even though they weren't designed with disk brakes in mind, I still wonder if there are OEM clip rims that would work with disks. Something has to fit over rotors... Maybe the six lug 16" or even 17.5" clip rims? I bet someone here on the forum is running them.
