Guess who bought a crew cab?

About 12 years ago a guy who works for me told me about a 66ish crew cab about 30 minutes away from Tulsa. I went out and looked at it, asked the guy if we wanted to sell it (it had been sitting what looked like 20+ years) and he told me no, he was going to fix it up some day. Well, life went by, I got married, divorced, remarried, had a kid, and one day last year I just happened to tell my wife about this truck that I saw all those years ago and that I would love to have it. She said "go get it then". Over the last year, I have been out about a dozen times, I only talked to him once (he was never home the other times), I left notes, talked to his wife, everything to try and get in contact with him. Finally, on Tuesday morning I happened to catch him outside working on another car and I asked him if he wanted to sell it. He told me he needed to talk to his wife and he would call me that night. He called and said come get it, I said Ill be there at 9 in the morning! Went out there, winched it on the trailer and I was headed home with it!

Re: Guess who bought a crew cab?

glad to see her saved! I'm jealous and you suck, but I am also glad....

I have a crew cab sort of near me, the old guy (75+) says he will fix it up, he wont. I keep bugging him anyway. one day maybe!

Re: Guess who bought a crew cab?

awesome! I've seen pics of that for a few years now, on the hamb, and here, glad to see that a board member got it and it is going to be put back on the road.

when you can please show lots of pics of the crew modifications, and crew specific pieces, it is great to see all the different ways these were built.

Re: Guess who bought a crew cab?

Welcome to the Crew Zone! Only a few have been there. Some have attempted to build their own to get there with very little success. Congrats on finally being able to get a hold of this. Consider yourself very lucky on entering the Crew Zone.

Re: Guess who bought a crew cab?

You must be stoked!

This had a camper unit or similar, from the plug coming out of the back of the cab for tailights? Back window missing ?
Like Jonz & everyone write, a ton of pictures would help enormously.

Would look awesome as a dually shortbox, and would take care of the fender lips at the same time.

The grille guard looks like it was made by or from a Luverne Grille Guard. The vertical bars in the center are they bent in a V shape?

Bustin Grille Guards
