Absolutely B!TCHIN Green AD in Atascadero - Someone Here?
Just checking in with the board.
I was in Atascadero, CA (just a bit north of San Luis Obispo) this weekend and saw an absolutely BEOOTIFUL dark green, lowered AD with steelies (I think) coming at me on Curbaril Rd. I know it's a long shot it was one of you guys but posting in hopes to see some pictures of it. I turned around and tried to catch the guy but missed the light and missed him. I was in my gray '08 Chevy Dually, if it matters.

Maybe posting in the "missed connections" section of your areas Craigslist might get some action? LOL!

Newfisher... that's funny stuff. But think about the potential damage if the connection was made. And the insurance claim!

Oh yeah! I forgot about you being in Morro Bay. My stepson, daughter in law and brand new grand daughter live in Atascadero. I'll be up there at least once a month on weekends.
Man, that AD was suhweet. If I can get my TF to have a similar stance I'll be a happy man.

Don,
Just took a quick look at your website, great photos. What color is your firewall? I've been considering for awhile if I'd want to change from my long intended red to a light sorta "kitchen enamel green". Kinda liking your yours and I definitely like the Bombay Ivory Rally's. Thinking of colors along the lines of these (grabbed off the net, various places):

""Don,

"" Hi Dan, the color of the truck will be 'close' to the Fiat 500 Verde Chiaro, the current firewall color is a test, not keeping it. Going with Glasurit 55 Line ifnwhen the bodywork is done. My wife retired, now there are too many projects it seems ... |

I've strongly considered the Fiat green too. It's very close to what I want but not QUITE there. Possibly a touch of blue too much for what I'm looking for. Still, I look at every one of them I see in different light to make sure. Really looking forward to see how yours looks...hurry up, will 'ya! Lol

The Sage color of the roadster in your post is about what we are trying for - Amazingly BASF said they didn't have the correct Fiat formulation, in any product line...BASF and the paint store owner took 2 trips and 4 hours to match it - going to shoot some small items soon and see.......I really like the Sage colors, I think they'll tend to fit the curves and rolls of the '51 nicely.

Re: Absolutely B!TCHIN Green AD in Atascadero - Someone Here?
I agree. At first I thought I wanted something like the color of the wheels on the roadster but then I decided it's a little too light.
The color of the VW is from 1954-55 called, Iceland Green. So it would be era-correct for our trucks, if not actually marque correct. It was recommended to me by a VW enthusiast I was talking to at the Father's Day Pasadena Police Department car show. His VW drop side pickup was an avocado-ish color that caught my attention and he told me its a 1957 color called, "Agave" green. It's too dark for me but is a great color. I wanted to post it here but Photobucket is down right now for maintenance. I'll post it later if you want to see it.

This color really appeals to me too. The car was in Street Rodder magazine in September 2012 and was called "Pillard's Passion". The paint is DuPont YS437, if it's of any interest to you.
From the look of it they shot it nearing sun down to make the tone warmer so I'd have to see a swatch of it to see if this is at all an accurate depiction of the color.

Just checking in on this old thread of mine.
Don, any progress on your paint job? Still looking at colors. The more I look the LESS I'm certain what color I want!

this truck didn't look so big until I started sanding.... I saw a really nice restored Green AD truck up in Cayucos, behind a locked gate - perhaps it could be the same one. I'll get up there again and see if I can get closer - |

Re: Absolutely B!TCHIN Green AD in Atascadero - Someone Here?
Thinking about some hue of green for my 49 GMC.
Was watching 'Wheeler Dealers' the other day and they had a Jag XJ6 two door (sorry I forget what they called it) but the color was called 'fern gray' Here's another Jag with that same color. |
