Center AC Vent in Dash
Guys - as was common, the center AC vent on my '72 GMC is very deteriorated. The PO included a fresh one with the sale. Easiest way to replace? The new one suggests it is mounted on two pins, but I can't be sure.

Re: Center AC Vent in Dash
The easy way is take glove box out and with a 7/16" open end wrench take the 2 nuts loose that sandwich it on to the dash. The backside under the dash will come off and the front will fall to the floor.

My repro replacement deteriorated after a few years too, and now looks as bad as the original did.

That's Florida, not that Luray doesn't see the sun. Just do what you can to keep from direct sunlight. That plating on plastic doesn't like laying out in the sun

. . . .
Just make sure you don't tighten it TOO TIGHT from the back . . . . . . I had to replace TWO of mine - the part under the "chrome" on the face will distort !!! |
