73+ front end cross member

I'm putting a 73+ front cross member into a 68 frame and I'm curious as to why I see everyone, even the factory install the 6 bolts that hold the front cross member into the frame up side down? Meaning the bolts are inserted from the bottom up. I think it looks a lot cleaner to put them in facing down. Is there a reason I shouldn't do this? Thanks!

I used to work as a mechanic at a racing school and we would mount certain fasteners like that so that we could easily see if any nuts were loose or missing.
