Seats

Let's talk seats......what are you guys using for your builds? Bench, buckets, consoles??? What are you taking them out of? Just looking for some ideas so I know what vehicles will make good donors. My build is not going original, so I'd like something comfy with power.

Re: Seats

Thanks....but looks like none of those are 60-66 trucks. Looking for something a bit closer to those years.

Re: Seats

I also used the original bench seat frame. All of the seat springs were removed (most were broken anyway) and replaced with a mixture of high density foam (the higher density at the bolsters and edges). It's covered in leather.

Re: Seats

I was thinking about going the same route. From what I have seem without actually trying to fit is the Ford F-150 circa 2006-10 has nice buckets and console. I would go with the manual seats for easy hook up. Also seems newer Chevy trucks might work. Floor plan is pretty flat which would offer mods to adapt much easier. Good luck !!

Re: Seats

Do you have any concerns with "No Headrests"?

With my build, my parents want me to install seats in my truck with headrest, actually seats from a 2004 Chevy Tahoe or avalanche that also has the seat-belts built into the seat.

I want to use the original bench seat. Your thoughts please?
Sorry to jump on your thread. Or should I move this?

Re: Seats

Mines out of a 66 now in my 65. It was cheap clean and in really good Shape. plus its temporary until I get my original one re upholstered. Personally I vote bench seats all the way Though. for classic trucks That is.

Re: Seats

i would love to have an original 60 bench seat in mine, but it wasnt there...

i just bought the seats out of a 2000 chevy pick up. like buckets with shoulder belts built in, also has the middle seat instead of a console. now i just have to figure out the mounting.
