Re: pbfab gas assist

Had some issues with mine. Had porterbuilt hinges one it already and it sat nice. Put the gas assist upgrade on there and it did not sit like it did before. With the struts it pushed the back of the hood up, causing a bad gap. Was able to correct it by adding spacers in between the hood braces and the hinges. This actually brought it down. Don't know what kind of fitment issues you are having but hopefully its an easy fix.

Hood won't move closer to the cab. Half inch away. I'll just mod it to work. And I had that same issue with the hood sitting higher same fix.

We have found a handful of discrepancies on the fitment with the 60-66 hoods and gas assist. The rigidity and stiffness of the hood and support brackets will play a role in how the rear lip of the hood fits up with the cowl. All have been pretty simple to dial in. Sounds like you guys have it figured out.

If you need any further assistance don't hesitate to shoot me an email: tech@pbfab.com

Thanks!
Nate
