Cowl hood pics
A friend gave me a cowl hood for my 68. Im not sure if I want to use it though. It may look a little goofy on my 3500. Any o
pinions? Anyone have pics? |

I think cowl hoods are nice only in so far as it matches the truck. Would be good to see it, i'm sure someone here might like it.

When I bought my truck the previous owner had one for it, so I left it on. I could have went either way.

Here is one on my 69 and it actually functions, lowered the intake air temp almost 20 degrees on a hot day.

HaysonJ, I see that you sealed your intake to the cowl, did you build a flapper door like the the 70 Chevelle had? I've had this planned for a few years, I just haven't go to that point in my project yet. I plan on using most of the chevelle componets to get a functioning flapper.

Ok, in your picture there looks to be vacuum hose attached to your hood. I thought maybe someone had beat me to the idea! Either way, nice job! You really don't see anyone using the cowl hood the way it was designed to use.
