69-72 K-5 Blazer speaker

Lot of discussion about these speakers. This one is a nice one. I have not removed the grille to see the speaker it's self but I believe it to be in good condition. It has the welded nuts on the brackets. A nice grille and original screws in the grille. $155 shipped in the good ole USA.

Re: 69-72 K-5 Blazer speaker

I believe that the 69/70 had them mounted under the dash just over your foot on the accelerator pedal there should be predrilled holes to mount it using the welded nuts. The 71/72 it was mounted under the dash below heater/AC controller using the same holes as the controller only without the nuts. Both ways have the same hole pattern. Just my observation and research. Others may say something different.

Re: 69-72 K-5 Blazer speaker

Asolde is correct, my 69 was mounted to the left of the controls. If you look near the steering column under the dash ,the holes are to the right ,near the indentation under the dash. Hard to explain but the left bracket bolts to the first hole to the right of the column under the dash, then the right bracket goes to the other hole.

Re: 69-72 K-5 Blazer speaker

I have this same speaker in my 1971..

Is there a way to test this speaker to see if it works. My radio is turning on but I have no sound. We're these speakers supposed to be good speakers? What's all the discussion about these?

Thanks

Some of these speakers are 46 years old and exposed to the elements. There is a place to buy a reproduction speakers that fit perfect but I don't remember the web site.
There is discussion about where it is mounted either directly under the controller or to the left of it just above your foot on the accelerator pedal. Some Blazers had the speaker grille up on the dash like the trucks. Some say there was a speaker mounted behind the passenger seat in the sidewall panel. I believe that all of the scenarios are true. Just my opinion. Alex

Re: 69-72 K-5 Blazer speaker

I just got this one last weak end first one I ever seen in the console. I get my old speakers record so they still have the threads for the screws.
