Gregg, are you taking out ram horn and putting in long tubes? Is that what im seeing?

Just the opposite, long tubes out, block huggers in.

AAAHHH man ...I was hoping youd be looking to be getting rid of those ram horn lol...I freakin hate my long tubes. So good on you for getting rid of those long tubes. I'll be doing the same very shortly.

I still haven't taken any pics of my progress. Hell its been dark by the time I get rdy to shoot. And well the anal retentive came out in me and I ended re working a small section of brake line, today when I got home. I just couldn't leave it fitted the way it was. So it had to be done. Anyhow I am taking a break from what I was doing. My LCA's should both be back on the truck tonight, and if weather permits tomorrow I'll be reassembling everything. I will still have to bleed brakes and tidy up a few things ...but I should have the front back on the ground no later than Saturday, (that's the goal anyways), to take the first look at the new stance on the front.
Anyhow, back to work.

Today was a good day. Weather was decent enough for me to make more progress. And this time I got pics for you pic fanatics lol. I am gonna start with where I left off last night. STARTING LOOK LIKE SOMETHING AGAIN!!.

As you can see I ran the brake lines on the outside of the frame rail like on the 70' c-10's. I did this because I really didn't want to fight with the headers while running them. I think they turned out ok looking. Now lets just hope all my inverted flares hold up to a leak test lol. Drilling the cross member was fun. As well as getting the damn Moog lower balljoint boots on haha.
So this is where I am at, at this point. I will be back at it in the morning.

It looks like you dropped your upper ball joint bolts in from the top, if so you might want to switch them around with the nuts on top of the control arm.

Well got some more done today. Had a couple of set backs I noticed that I corrected this morning. But I am happy at this point. I am not done but, I was able to get on the ground to check it out. I am pretty freakin happy at this point! I still got tie rods center link calipers and bleeding left ..but just being able to see it on the ground has really made my yr! And kicked my motivation in the ace! so heres a couple of teasers.

I will have to be honest here, last night I had been thinking bout my positive camber issue. And I had scared myself for a second. I was thinking my spindles were Installed wrong. But after looking at them, and searching the good ole interwebs I realized I had them in correctly.
So This morning I tore it back down to correct the positive camber. This thing had so many washers packed behind the uppers it wasn't even funny. Also ran into another roadbock, that I over came as well. The UCA studs that were installed were not the factory pressed in studs that I had read about previously. At some point they had been changed out to grade 8 bolts. The problem was, that the bolts that were installed had a huge shoulder on them. Which became a problem when I tried to remove shims and didn't have enough meat on the stud to run my UCA bolts tight. So I pulled those went to hardware store and got new grade 8 bolts to drop in. Removed all fork shims and washer shims that were installed. I left the factory conical shims in place. Did a mock up so I could check the camber before final assembly. So as of right now, I have just a touch of negative camber. Which imo is fine considering any corrections can/should be able to be made with fork shims when I take it in for alignment. So I put everything back together and set back on the ground for now.
I also went ahead and prepped my center link for assembly, Cleaned it up sanded and hit with 4 coats of epoxy black. Once its cured I can start tie rod assembly.
Am thinking tomorrow evening ill get on the calipers. I was looking today, and well I may have a clearance issue with the caliper and the wagon wheels that are on it behind the nice c10 hubcaps. I figure that out once I get to that point.

So tomorrow I return back to work, VACATION IS OVER ! hopefully I wont be to beat down so I can get to work on it .

Well the weather has been in the crapper, so not much progress has been made. Between it raining and being cold, and not getting home from work until its pretty much dark has slow things down a bit. Sad thing is I come home and see it daily and its been killing me mentally ,to not be out there working on it. Don't get me wrong, I have done some piddilly stuff to it ..but nothing ground breaking. But I did happen to score some slots for the old beast(MERRY CHIRSTMAS!!). Am planning to have some meats on them this weekend and have them on the truck and rdy to go when I am rdy. I am so close to being done with the front end, that I can taste it. And as much as I am gonna want to drive it, I am alrdy thinking of pulling the engine and going thru it, dropping better heads, cam, intake and freshening it up a bit. Still have to do the rear springs and shock relocators as well. I plan on going thru the rear brakes and making sure they are up to par as well. So there still plenty to get done.

Just a quick update. Got my slots mounted up on some 275/60/15's, and on the truck. Still have some more to do before it will be road worthy. But its close.

LOVE the slots. Have been looking for a set like that seems like forever. I want to run 6 lug also. Would be perfect to find 6 lug 16's.

Thanks jeff. I was torn really, beween some steelies or slots. Found these on ebay, and snatched them up since they were reasonably priced compared to the other 6 lug slots i had found. These are damn near flawless , no curb rash anywhere, which even made the deal sweeter.

Pretty good work so far, keep it up. I'm about to crank back up into mine. Been saving up for parts. Tomorrow some work will happen to the front end.
