A/C lost power today....

97 c1500 ext cab 2wd

Driving home and the a/c started to blow warm air , shut it off since I was home. Let it sit a couple hours so I could go throw a quick charge on it, while it was running I heard the compressor shut off and never came back on.... tried to jump the pressure switch, didn't work. The recirc/ac buttons are not even lighting up....

Let it sit awhile go back out and the recirc/ac buttons lit up*very Verydim*and then they just faded away like it just lost power...

sound like a bad climate control panel ? I've read these go bad and since I've owned my truck the fan only blows out of the front vents..

Re: A/C lost power today....

Warm air blowing is also a sign your A/C might be losing its charge of refrigerant, it can also mean there's something wrong with the refrigerant circuit, something might be preventing it from flowing in the A/C system. Could also be a compressor issue, compressor may not be engaging when you turn it on. I'd have an experienced technician take a look at it just to be sure. Hope it gets fixed.

Thanks, I will get it fixed.... I'm going to order a new climate control panel, i do believe that is the culprit..

The fact that I got the lights to come on then they slowly faded like it just shorted out...
