Extended cab s10 for '54?

I was trying to find an s10 frame to use for our 1954 Chevy pickup and came across an extended cab short box. Will that work or does it need to be a regular cab long box?

If you have a long bed it is the exact frame you need. If you have a short bed than it can be used. The way the S10 frame is built there are 3 pieces. The front section is the same for all of them then the frame rails slide inside of it. You will have to do cut the factory welds, slide the rear section out, cut off 8" from the rear rails, slide the rear back in, and weld it back together.

this is true except there is only 5" difference between a long bed s10 and an ext cab s10, if you cut off 8" it will be a little short.

108.3" Shortbed
117.9" Longbed
122.9" Extended Cab

here is the splice
