I would consider a demon carb over holley, the demons just look tougher to me. But they seem to be just a holley with a cool looking face lift with billet baseplates and billet metering blocks. and they actually a bowl site glass you can actually see the gas through, plus they come with a metal dual fuel line kit with a place for a fuel pressure gauge. the holley street avenger i bought said dual fuel line kit included. I was somewhat disapointed when i opened the box and found a couple of peices of rubber hose, some plastic connector fittings and some clamps for what i paid for the carb. If you don't care about the having the hotrod appearance when you pop the hood, get a quadrajet. I just like holleys and demons cause I like the hotrod look under the hood, although i will have to admit prob not the best choice for daily driver and economy. but as previously said, no matter what carb you get a little tuning will go a long way.

Mike, I've heard the 'QuadraJunk' nametag before & I would tend to agree w/you. But..... we all know original 'Quadra-Jets' are more commomly (and accurrately) referred to as 'Quadra-Bogs' because of the vacuum leaks associated w/worn throttle shafts.

New carbs rule, irreguardless of manufacturer..... when properly tuned.

I'm putting my Carter Q-Jet onto my engine when I'm done with it

I would recommend a Quadrajet or Edelbrock 1406. My El Camino had a GM crate motor w/ a 1406 and it performed awesome.

Or you could install a TPI setup! Now, that would be sweet.

SWEET..but WAAAAY bad for making power. Sure the TPI LOOKS cool, but trust me, I think it seriously made be the worst made intake for making power. If you look at the aftermarket ones (SuperRam, MiniRam, StealthRam) they ALL ditch the long tube runner ideaology...too bad really..cuz IMHO, while the worst performing, I think the TPI is the best LOOKING intake GM ever designed
