Is it worth fixing drip rails and roof and floors or just getting new cab?
I'm think of buying this 67 k10 needs alot of body work guy says $6k firm. But I was thinking more 4500. But willing to go 5k. So my questions are 1. How much should I pay for the truck. 2. Is the cab even worth fixing?

Re: Is it worth fixing drip rails and roof and floors or just getting new cab?
The big problem with rust in the drip tails is it usually rusts the inside of the roof and other places. Id try and find a cab if I bought it but I dont think Id pay anywhere close to 5000 for that much rust. I'm from viriginia so I know it can be hard to find them but they are around.

Yea truck is in CT. I can handle the floors and all else on truck. It's just that roof that's concerning me. I have the time for alot of work needed but it just looks like this one would be even more then alot.

I'd keep looking. You should be able to find something with waaaaaay less rust in Texas.

That would be too much money for even NY standards. for that much money you could buy one on e-bay in texas, ship it to where you're at, and still be way ahead of the game. Unless you love the idea of getting into a loooong overhaul, I'd look for something else...Heres an example .. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-C-...m=301586109343

Still too much.I be youre gonna need a complete floor with all the floor supports as well as front and rear pillars. Im sure there a lot of hidden bondo as well in cab corners, doors, etc. since its in Connecticut.

Seems way too rusty for $6000, more like $1800. Everything is fixable.

Re: Is it worth fixing drip rails and roof and floors or just getting new cab?
I'm out in Cali so when I see trucks like this I shudder....Way too much $$$$.
IMHO it's worth shopping for a better vehicle, and spending a little more up front to save in the long run. Even if that means buying a west coast truck and having it shipped. I know you want a 4X4 so I did a quick search on CL of the SF bay area and there are some trucks but high priced. However, there is a vehicle in Redding (not mine) which is a great example of what I'm talking about. Looks clean and perhaps the seller will negotiate. http://redding.craigslist.org/cto/4881669547.html Best of luck in your search....If you need a vehicle checked out around the Sf bay area I can help you. |

I have learned that it is better to pay more up front than out back. With that rust bucket you'd pay more up front and out back! LOL
Find something else. |

This is a 1972 near Knoxville, TN. It is a pretty good looking truck from just looking at the pics. I am not affiliated with the truck.
