Question on OEM Heaters

So the '57 3600 Cab I have and am going to use for my project is all original and has the heater installed under the dash/glove box, but there is no control in the dash that looks like this:



Does this mean that my heater doesnt have a motor fan? or what?

Mine is the same as yours. I assume this is a "base model heater. The control you pictured is a "Deluxe" model control. Someone more knowledgeable will chime in I'm sure.

Your Heater is the base model and not the Deluxe Heater and you would of had a
on off with high low knob on the plate just to the right,
Looks like you have the remnants of the switch left in the center of the plate.
and that is the Deluxe heater control panel for the deluxe heater you have pictured.

^^^ What Allen said. Standard recirculating heater. Should have a flip lever to switch heat from floor to windshield. My 59 has a three position lever the middle position allows for 1/2 flow to the floor and 1/2 to the windshield.

Deluxe heater control has to have cables and also uses a special heater core that is round. Standard heater uses a rectangular core. Don't know if you can retrofit a deluxe control on a recirculating heater. I would guess if it was possible someone would have already done it.

i have a deluxe heater in my 57 and the core is indeed square not round

mine too. I think it's the aftermarket heaters that have the round core.
