Can't find a donar
Does anyone here live in north Alabama or southern TN that can put me on a pick-n-pull that will have a later model 6.0L LS truck for a donar? Every place I call they tell me the same thing, "we don't get those very often, when we do, they are gone in a flash." I swear these places around here must have a deal with someone that they tell to come and get'em. I've called pretty steady to five yards for over a month with no luck!

Re: Can't find a donar
I used to see those LQ9 iron blocks pop up on the C5 section of the Corvette forum:
http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...s-for-sale-52/ My C5 was armed with one. It was stroked to 422ci. My Yukon has one but I'm using right now. Last edited by Chaplain; 04-14-2015 at 09:37 PM. |

Re: Can't find a donar
A couple years ago 6.0's grew on trees but they've gotten pretty rare around here too. Not sure if it's an age thing, most yards crush things more than about 5 years old here. Or it may be a hotrod thing, people started buying them up for projects. Used to be a healthy supply of 4.8's too, but that I'm pretty sure dried up due to age more than demand. 5.3's have always been scarce.

Re: Can't find a donar
Yeah everyone has gone nuts over the 6.0 lately. The 5.3 and 4.8 can be easier to get and make enough power stock and have a big aftermarket if you want more power.
